Relaxation in Love!

It is always said that you take your best photos when you are comfortable in your surroundings. Sunday's shoot location couldn't have been more comfortable and relaxing for this couple.

Sunday was such a beautiful day for photos, I had found this great spot at Edwin Warner Park that I felt would be great for some photos. So, I scheduled a shoot with one of my wedding couple Kenneth and Sparkal. The sound of the water was just so tranquil and relaxing to the sound... I placed the couple right in the midst of the water and captured shots as they took in the beauty & natural music of their surroundings. The shoot got even more romantic and relaxing and the sunset.

Still In Love!

Congrats to Mario and Ty who just celebrated their 1yr. Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 5.

In a effort to re-live their wedding day Mario rented a tuxedo and Ty slipped right back into her dress, with a little help from Mario! You go girl!

We decided to something outdoors and so went down to the Shelby St. Bridge. Unfortunately it was supper hot but we made the best of it!

First came LOVE, then came Marriage, now here comes the Baby Carriage for Aaron and Ladonna Ford...

When we first meet with wedding couples are goal is not just to lock them in to capture the special moments of their wedding day, it's to establish a lasting relationship so that we can be there to capture the special moments of the rest of their lives. 

I first met Aaron back in 2005 when I shot his brother. When it came time for Aaron and Ladonna to get married they called us. First came the engagement portraits, then the wedding portraits and now as the couple just celebrated their 2yr. wedding Anniversary, here comes the maternity portraits and very soon the baby carriage!!! 

For the Maternity shoot the couple chose a familiar location of the Ellington Agricultural Center where we took some of their engagement portraits.

Unfortunately we picked a day when the temperature was 90+ degree in the shade, however we made the best of it and were able to capture some beautiful portraits!

Love Shines Through!

God has blessed us this year with so many great couples to work with this year. Saturday's couple was no exception! Robyn and Leonard brought so much life and energy to the shoot and their love for each other shined through! The shoot started at the Bi-centennial mall where we got ate up by mosquitoes, then we made our way the riverfront and on to the Shelby Street Bridge.

Fred & Nekesha Wedding

What a Beautiful Wedding! 


Saturday we had a great time celebrating with and capturing the wedding of Fred and Nekesha. 


I was a little reluctant at first knowing that we were working with such a large wedding party (14 bridesmaid, 14 groomsmen, 3 flower girls, 2 junior bridesmaids, 2 junior groomsmen, a bible bearer, and a ring bearer) woe!!!! I almost lost count, but it all worked out! Everyone was easy going and great to work with!  


We really enjoyed all of the family, friends, and vendors who were involved in this wedding. We really had fun getting know Fred and Nekesha!

New Office & Studio!

Ok.... So it has been a long time since I have made a post... God has been blessing us and opening up doors that we had to step away for a little while!

After 10 yrs. of working out of our home, in March we were blessed with opportunity to move out of our home into a 800 sq. ft. office space in downtown Nashville. This now gives us the opportunity to have a spacious office and meeting space. This has also provided us with enough room to have an actual studio!

Just to let you know how God works! I (ROLAND) actually interned and wrote my business plan for ROLAND'S Photography in this same suite back in 1999.

So we are now located in the 315 10th Ave. North Suite 126, right across the street from the TSU Avon Williams in the Nashville Business Incubation Center.

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to our first blog! This is a new form of communication for us so bear with us... We so excited to share our experiences with you through this blog!

ROLAND's Photography is blessed to say that we have just celebrated our 10th year in business.  We want to say "Thank You" to our past clients and supporters, who have been as much of a blessing to us as we hope we were to them!

Technology in photography has changed a lot over the last 10 years and continues to change daily.  This year we are focused on educating ourselves as well as our clients on this new technology.

We recently attended the ImagingUSA (the professional photography event of the year, Jan. 10-12, 2010) conference at Opryland. It was our first year attending. It was a very educational, yet  overwhelming experience! There are so many new products, services, and equipment options available to help us take our creativity to another level!

As 2010 unfolds we will be showcasing what we learned from new techniques, to new products and services.

We hope that this blog will be a opportunity for others to see the creative ministry that God has planted in ROLAND'S Photography.
